Visitors to Friday's 6th annual Iron Range Juneteenth celebration hosted by VEMA enjoy the music of Eli Little and The Easy Liv'n Blues Band in the center of Chestnut Street in Virginia. The festival which celebrates the end of slavery in the United States commemorates the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced that enslaved people were free-more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
